El Salvador Finca La Reforma - Alverez Family

17.00

Finca La Reforma sits atop the hills of Santa Ana in the western part of El Salvador, an area which has rich volcanic soil and good growing conditions for coffee. The Alverez Family has been in ownership of multiple farms in the area for over 100 years & they also own the Borbollon Mill which is where this coffee is processed.

One thing we noticed right away with this coffee was how evenly it was sorted and how nice the processing was. Rarely do we find a coffee with this much bean size uniformity (makes it easier to roast and in turn easier to brew). This outstanding quality is only made possible by hand picking ripe cherries, very carefully processing the coffee with water and running it through multiple stages of sorting, which are all practices the Alverez Family embrace heavily.

This coffee has a very nice dense almond paste and milk chocolate undertone throughout, even as it cools this stays constant and pleasant. The high notes are kiwi, lime and tangerine & perhaps a bit of zest along with the pulp. Extremely balanced and delicious both brewed & as espresso!
